Policies
Thank you for trusting me as your massage therapy provider. I respect your time and ask for the same courtesy in return. These policies are in place to ensure that all clients receive consistent, high-quality service while allowing me to maintain an efficient schedule.
-
When you schedule, you will review a copy of the massage therapy policies and will be asked to sign the consent stating that you have read the information, understand it, and agree to comply with the professional massage therapy policies and procedures. Clients who have not been seen for at least a year will also be asked to fill out this form.
-
The discussion between the massage therapist and the client is confidential. The client may or may not choose to talk during the massage. It is inappropriate for a massage therapist to discuss the therapist's personal life with the client. I am happy to listen to your conversation and share our professional expertise. I may be required to release records under a court order, or to your doctor.
-
Under certain medical conditions, massage/bodywork may not be advised, for example when a fever is present, infection, skin rashes, other illnesses or recent surgery. If massage could be potentially harmful to a client’s condition, I reserve the right to decline to perform the massage.
-
I am happy to adjust pressure, temperature, musical volume, or work longer on an area or move on if you request it. The client may choose to: leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods or stop massage at any time. The client will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped. Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the client and the massage therapist is NEVER appropriate. The session will be terminated immediately and the client will be responsible for full payment.
-
Tax: Ohio law requires massage therapists to charge sales tax for massage services. This sales tax is included within the listed service cost.
Insurance: I do not offer direct billing to insurance companies. You are responsible for full payment and I can provide documentation that can be submitted for possible reimbursement.
Tips: Tipping is neither required nor expected, but of course is welcome and appreciated.
-
Grace Period: Clients have a 5-minute grace period from their appointment start time. I will do my best to accommodate minor delays.
Time Reduction: Arrivals beyond the 5-minute grace period may result in a reduction of hands-on time during the session to avoid delays for subsequent clients.
-
Chronic No-Shows: Excessive no-shows may result in the need to discontinue offering our services to the client.
Right to Refuse Service: I reserve the right to refuse future appointments to any client who has a history of no-shows.
-
Notice Requirement: Clients must provide a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Emergency or Sickness: Exceptions for late cancellations may be made at the discretion of the therapist for emergencies or sickness.
-
Equipment and linens: All equipment and linens that come in contact with the clients will be cleansed in an approved method.
Therapist expectations: Before and after each massage, the massage therapist's hands and forearms will be washed with hot soapy water and a disinfecting solution. Any breaks in the skin of the massage therapist will be covered with protective coverings.
Client expectactions: The client will come to the massage therapy appointment clean. The client will inform the massage therapist of any breaks in the skin, and these areas will be avoided.

I have a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior and comments. In the event that a client displays inappropriate behavior, the session will end immediately. The client will be charged the full amount of the session and asked to leave. No future appointments will be accepted. I reserve the right to take action. For privacy and comfort, draping with a sheet is required during the entire massage. If a client feels they are subject to inappropriate behavior, or something that makes them uncomfortable in any way, please speak up and communicate this. Clients reserve the right to end a session at any time.
