Carolyn May, LMT, M.Div.
Carolyn is a licensed massage therapist trained at the American Institute of Alternative Medicine. She provides individualized, assessment-based treatments using deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, neuromuscular, and Swedish techniques to reduce pain, restore mobility, and support overall wellness.
Prior to massage therapy, Carolyn was working as a hospital chaplain. The grief she witnessed in that setting, as well as navigating her own grief from several personal losses, led her into the care of a massage therapist. Over the course of several years, she began to recognize that massage had become a profound and essential tool that was helping her body to find ways of holding the weight of grief with a bit more ease. With this realization, Carolyn decided to make the transition to massage therapy and has since developed a deep love for this work.
Carolyn is grateful to be able to integrate her experience in chaplaincy and grief work into her practice of massage therapy. She serves adults navigating grief, stress, injury recovery, chronic conditions, and life transitions. She is committed to creating a safe, hospitable space for clients carrying physical, emotional, and spiritual burdens. Recognizing that we all hold so much in our bodies, Carolyn views it as a gift to be able to walk with people through their lives, inviting more space, more ease, and more gentleness into their bodies.
